"Today, Tennessee Walking Horses are known throughout the industry
as the breed that shows abused and tortured horses."

~ Jim Heird, Ph.D., Do Right By The Horse, February 2010

"If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity,
you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men."

ANNOUNCEMENT - FTTWH IS NOW A WEBSITE!

For the Tennessee Walking Horse is now an official website!   This is the big news I have kept alluding to, and it has finally come to fruition!

We are please to provide you with the ONLY website dedicated to the sound TWH and his owners. Our goal is to provide a place for sound horse people to learn about the breed, but also to continue our fight against soring. We always found that with most websites out there, either you are bombarded with the image of the BL or the sound TWH is lumped in with all other breeds. The TWH doesn't have a website where people can go to learn the truth behind soring and where to learn how to humanely train and ride their TWH. This website is entirely FOR THE HORSE. We are not affiliated with any one trainer, professional, HIO or association: rather, we encompass all areas where sound TWHs are welcomed. This includes showing, trail riding, endurance riding, versatility, dressage, all kinds of areas and things you can do with your TWH! This website is constantly being updated, so if you have suggestions feel free to send them via our Contact Us page.

This blog will still exist of course, because we still want to keep the public informed of all of the issues that come up concerning soring.  It will be easier to maintain that information here rather than post it on the website every time it comes up.

Let me be the first to welcome you to the new For the Tennessee Walking Horse website and a new, SOUND day for the horse!
